Heather Ludwig, Assoc. AIA

IMG_1722I have always wanted to be an architect. As a young child I would spend hours drawings floor plans of schools and designing my dream house, located in the mountains of course. I feel very fortunate to have known, at such a young age, what I wanted to be when I grew up. Since childhood I have worked every day towards becoming an architect. Every Lego house I built, every school I doodled, and every A-framed log home I drew was just one step closer for me to reach my goal. Though my journey has been long, it has been one of good fortune, risk, and a few set backs. As my journey to becoming an architect continues, I count my blessing each day that I have made it this far…

Currently working for Beck Architecture, LLC., I have seven years of experience, specifically focusing on healthcare architecture. I have been active in the AIA and AIAS since 2004. Starting my AIA career as the AIAS Chapter President at CU Boulder, I quickly saw the benefit of the organization and how important it was to be involved.  I continued my involvement, post graduation,  by serving as the AIA Colorado North Associate Director in 2007 and AIA Colorado Associate Director in 2009. I have also sat on a number of AIA committees including the Membership Committee, Young Architects Awards Gala committee and the AIA Colorado North Awards Gala committee. Currently, I serve as the AIA Denver Associate Director. As a passionate closet writer it was an honor when asked to be a regular contributor to the AIA Colorado Emerging Professionals Blog in 2010. I am so excited to be a part of this very talented group of Emerging Professionals and continue to be inspired by every blog post! Dedicated to being a licensed architect I am currently in the process of taking the ARE.
